Texas–Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan Update: Guiding Cross-Border Connectivity to 2050

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is updating the Texas–Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan (BTMP), a long-range plan that guides transportation planning efforts in the border region to address current and future cross-border issues and transportation needs.

As part of this update, TxDOT will refresh and refine the vision statement that guides how transportation planning and investments support the Texas–Mexico border region. The vision should reflect where we want to be by 2050—a shared, binational outlook that captures how people and goods move safely, efficiently, and sustainably across communities on both sides of the border.
